Doug and Jay Tedder formed The Tedder Company on January 1, 2003. The father-son duo set out to build a company based on honesty, integrity, and quality work. Their aim was to build relationships with their customers and become trusted advisors for their HVAC needs. With both Doug and Jay being devout followers of Christ, treating others as you want to be treated was a core value from the beginning. The “family” environment they worked to instill among employees and customers alike is still going strong today.
In 2009, The Tedder Company was dealt a heavy blow when Doug Tedder passed away from complications treating a brain tumor, leaving Jay to run the business alone. As someone who had spent over 40 years in the HVAC industry, the loss of Doug’s leadership was difficult to overcome. Though he has been gone for many years now, the foundation of quality and integrity that he laid are his legacy to the company, and still guide us to this day.
Over the years that have followed, the Lord has blessed us beyond anything we could have ever imagined. Our service area has grown to include most of southern Middle Tennessee. Jay has grown to see God as the true Owner of the company and see it as our purpose to be His light to all we come in contact with, employees, customers, and vendors. Our mission has evolved to what it is today: to provide excellent service, with a servant’s heart, honoring Christ.
